Trees pruning is done to anticipate trees from falling during rainy season.
South Jakarta Forestry Sub-dept.'s Forestry Section Head, Bambang Muhirdan said, his side prunes trees in three locations which are Jalan Melawai 12, Jalan Melawai 13, and Taman Sepeda Melawai.

According to him, trees pruning is a preventive way to trim dry parts of the trees which is done routinely, though sometimes residents also asked for trees pruning.
"Overgrowth trees on Melawai are mostly angsana and glodokan trees," he mentioned.
He added, the rest of trees pruning from each locations will be taken to Kebagusan Green Open Space (RTH) by using a dump truck.
Meanwhile, RW 04 Melawai Head, Teuku Azhari feels grateful because trees pruning reduces the risk of fallen trees in this rainy season.
"Now this area becomes cleaner, clearer, and more beautiful. I hope this activity to continue and becomes a routine," he mentioned.
